On 2 different MACs the component doesn't wok. On one the installation has some issue and in other, it's installed OK but when exporting i Always get: "The class or interface 'xm.components.ImageComponentContainer' could not be loaded. this also happens with the Align component

There shouldn't be anything wrong with the package. However, you could try unpacking the zip file into a separate folder, moving the file XMCA_03_090.mxi from the sources folder to its parent folder, and than trying running the mxi instead of mxp. Furthermore, you could open the mxi file in your text or XML editor, and delete lines which install TTF fonts, which could be a likely cause of the problems with pre-OSX systems.

As for the classes, you could simply copy the xm folder (which is itself in the sources folder) into your FLA folder.

If all fails, you really only need to copy the xm folder into your project's folder, along with the gStage.as file, and drop the components from the libraries of the FLAs located in sources/FLA. (Rather tedious, though.)

But...the installation for XMCA 0.3 (version 0.9.0) requires Flash 8.0.

What a shame...I'm working on 7.2 - 2004MX

Anything you can do about that?

Hi there!
I've updated the scrollbar component and it seems like all of my old projects that is using it stopped functioning!! Sometimes the scroll works sometimes it doesn't. I have skinned the component so I don't want to just replace the old bars.
Can I download the old version somewhere or does anyone had this problem also?

Niklas, there is a download link to the previous version at the beginning of this thread. If you need to use both versions, you can copy class files (xm package) of the respective versions in your FLA's directory, and set your FLA's to use the current directory as its class path.

You can find the class files for the currently installed version at the following location:

C:Documents and Settings//Local Settings/Application Data/AdobeFlash CS3/en/Configuration/Classes

I just discovered the download above. It doesn't seem like that is the problem though. I am totally in the dark here. All of a sudden the scrollbars stopped working without any apparent reason - very strange. Even the ones in files that I haven't worked on that already are in swf-format and haven't touched.

Well - actually the problem was that I reinstalled my whole system with all my programs inluding flash and the problem seemed to be that I had to remove the old scrollarea component and drag a new one to stage & that made it work again... It seems like it needed some sort of "update"...

Unfortunately on my MAC nothing works :(
the installation of the component doesn't work, the fla examples dont work..
i tried to drag the component from the library to another one...but it doesn't work!

weird, i just opened a new blank document, added the same component to the stage published it and that worked. then went to my original file and published it and now i don't get the error. i'm so confused but hey, it works :) thank you for all your stellar work over the years.

I was wondering if the MaskArea component can be scrolled using custom actions?... Say I have a movieclip that is being masked using MaskArea component. Instead of scroller I would like to use two custom buttons in my design and make the content of MaskArea scroll using those buttons. Unfortunately I can't see any help document in downloaded archive for MaskArea component. So I'm totally lost about supposerted function calls for MaskArea Component. Any suggession is apprectiated. Thanks for these wonderful components though. :)

I'm traing to install XMCA Components into Adobe Flash CS4/Vista 32. So far without any success. I can see them in Adobe Extension Manager but they never show up in Flash CS4 under Componet Panel. Can you help me? Thanks
